Charlene Clark, 61 of Sigourney and formerly of Oskaloosa died Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Charlene Marie Clark, daughter of Charles and Mary Johnson Clark, was born May 19, 1951 in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Charlene was a 1969 graduate of Fremont High School. Her first job was working at the Oskaloosa Overall Factory while she was attending Indian Hills Community College, where she received a degree in Culinary Arts. After college she worked as a dietitian at the New Sharon Nursing Home, Mahaska Manor and Northern Mahaska Nursing Home.

Charlene attended the Christian Church in Sigourney. She also enjoyed knitting, cross stitching and stock car racing. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was her favorite driver. Charlene will be remembered for her love for animals, especially her cats. She was also a great caregiver to the elderly and a person who adored children.

Charlene is survived by three brothers: David (& Pheobe) McMillen of Chillicothe, OH, Roger (& Sandy) Clark of Oskaloosa and Steve Clark of Oskaloosa; three sisters: Margaret Mckenzie of Des Moines, Virginia Treanor of Knoxville, and Rosemary Ford of Eddyville. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Larry G. Clark; and three brothers-in-law: Ron Mckenzie, David Treanor and Danny Ford, Sr.

No funeral service is planned.
Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon.
Burial will be held privately in the Highland Cemetery at New Sharon.
Memorial contributions may be made in Charlene’s name to Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter, 2299 235th St, Oskaloosa, IA 52577.
