Oskaloosa, Iowa [October 27, 2014] – The Oskaloosa Band Booster Annual Fruit and Nut sale began Monday, October 27, 2014. This year, students in grades 7-12 will be selling a variety of items and delivery date for all orders is Saturday, December 6, 2014. The students are selling eight different fruit packages with apples, oranges, grapefruit and pears, a variety of nuts and candies, and fifteen types of gourmet cheesecakes.

The Boosters are the biggest provider of funds for the band program at Oskaloosa Schools. The budget for the Band Boosters this year is over $10,000, and we provide music, instruments and repairs, pay for drill and instructors, and help with transportation and equipment for the marching, concert and jazz bands. In the past year the boosters have been able to purchase several big ticket items: a smaller trailer for all competitions, drum wraps for the marching band battery, and five marching bass contras. Future purchases include new uniforms and upgrading instruments in all programs from elementary to high school.

If you would like more information about the sale, please contact the high school band director, Mr. Rich Waddington, or the middle school band director, Mr. Rusty Raymond. The band boosters thank the community for their continued support of Oskaloosa music programs.
