Nina Tomlinson Davis, 88, of Oskaloosa, died Sunday, October 12, 2014, at the Madison County Hospital in Winterset. She was born May 7, 1926, at Beaver, Iowa, the daughter of Harry Frederick and Martha Elizabeth Allen Koboldt.

Nina graduated from Earlham High School with the class of 1943. In 1953, she was united in marriage to George Richard “Dick” Tomlinson in Omaha, Nebraska. Dick had a son Gary Richard that Nina adopted following their marriage. To this union two children were born, Doug and Marvel. On December 14, 1961, Dick died. In 1977, Nina married Clifford R. Davis at Oskaloosa, he died December 19, 1985.

Nina worked at Iowa Trust Bank for 15 years. She later worked at ITT Finance for 12 years and Steven’s Concrete, LTD. for 13 years.

Nina was a member of Calvary Bible Church in Oskaloosa. She was also a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She delighted in being a grandmother. Her grandchildren always looked forward to trips to her home.

Nina is survived by her two children: Doug (& Sheryl) Tomlinson of Oskaloosa and Marvel Anne Tomlinson (& Steve Jackson) of Lewisville, Texas; a daughter in law (Gary’s widow), Paula Tomlinson of Wichita, Kansas; five grandchildren: Nathan Tomlinson, Martha (& Scott) Stern, Kathryn (& Kyle) Phillips, Sean (& Roxy) Tomlinson, and Tracy (& Erik) Larsen; 3 great grandchildren: Abbie and Hunter Stern, and Hadley Phillips; three step children: Richard (& Marilyn) Davis of Ottumwa, Martha Sharp of Oskaloosa, and Don (& Mary) Davis of River Falls, Wisconsin; and many step grand and great grandchildren.

In addition to both of her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary Richard “Rick” Tomlinson; two brothers: Earl and Wayne Koboldt; and four sisters: Pearl Koboldt, Myra Spencer, Mae Martens, and Amy Leggett.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating.
Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Wednesday after 11 a.m. and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 6-8 Wednesday evening to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to Keo-Mah Genealogical Society.
