Patricia Janet Noble, 58, of Oskaloosa, died Saturday, August 30, 2014, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born July 29, 1956, in Vicksburg, Michigan, the daughter of Henry Carl and Jeannette Gertrude Smith Noble.

Patricia attended Vicksburg High School and later graduated from Comstock High School. She worked for many years as a Certified Nurse’s Aide. Patricia believed that an education was the foundation for success. She instilled that belief in her children. She returned to college as a single mom and earned her bachelor degree in Psychology from Buena Vista University.

For the last ten years Patricia has worked at the V.A. in Des Moines. She enjoyed her position there as a C.N.A., where she felt like she was giving back to the veterans. She worked very hard and sacrificed much to raise her three children as a single mother. 

Patricia enjoyed playing BINGO, traveling and being outdoors. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren.

Patricia‘s family includes her three children: Necole (& Bob) Loftis of Harvey, Amanda Van Auken of Oskaloosa, and Jason Noble of Oskaloosa; eight grandchildren: Jessica Loftis, Tianna Loftis, Robert Loftis, Daniel Loftis, Malachi Loftis, Isaiah Loftis, Kadin Utterback and Gwyneth Utterback; seven brothers and sisters: Dan (& Peggy) Noble of Michigan, Dennis (& Diane) Noble of Vicksburg, Michigan, Deloris (& Jerry) Roberts of Oskaloosa, Betty (& Arlen) Burley of Lansing, Michigan, Ron (& Nancy) Gerard of Holt, Michigan, Beverly Wright and Barbara Allingham; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two nephews: Nathan Roberts and Samuel Noble; and a great niece, Julia Roberts.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at 6 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark Raymie officiating.
As was Patricia’s wish, her body will be cremated. Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Wednesday morning after 10 a.m. and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 4 p.m. until service time at 6 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
