Donna Koch, 83 of Oskaloosa and formerly of What Cheer died Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Serenity House in Oskaloosa. Donna Lucille Koch, daughter of Walter Mart and Lillian Bradley was born May 28, 1931 in Montezuma, Iowa.

Donna attended school in Montezuma and later married James Herald Koch on July 29, 1951. Over the years she worked as a waitress, Kingsberry Homes and as a custodian at the University of Iowa Hospital.

Donna enjoyed cross stitching, embroidering and was known to be rather competitive over a good bingo game. She will be remembered as a person who was never afraid to speak her mind and always got the last word.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, James Herald Koch; a son, Herald Allen Koch; a granddaughter, Crystal Hadsell; and a son-in-law, Dennis Hartwig.

She is survived by three sons: Rick (& Kim) Koch of Deep River, Kenneth (& Barbara) Koch of Wayland, and Herald Louis Koch of Burlington; three daughters: Vicky Hartwig of What Cheer, Sandra (& Roger) Clark of Oskaloosa and Pat (& Gary) Hadsell of Tracy; a brother, Richard (& Bev) Mart of Neodesha, KS; a sister, Wilma Talbert of New Sharon; fifteen grandchildren; twenty nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer.
Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery near What Cheer.
Visitation will begin at noon on Monday with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday evening.
