1990: A warm late November continued as the temperature peaked at 73 F at Lamoni and 71 F at Des Moines making this the latest date on record of a temperature in the 70s at either location. Ottumwa also set a daily record with a high of 71 F. The warm weather that had been present for several days would soon come to an end as a winter storm system crossed Iowa on the following day.

1977: Unseasonably cold temperatures occurred across north central and northeastern Iowa with a number of locations recording their lowest temperatures ever in the month of November. The lowest reported temperatures included -16 F at Decorah, Manchester, and Webster City, -17 F at Waterloo, -18 F at Clarion and Oelwein, -19 F at Independence, and -20 F at Fayette.
