Dennis spent his youth and teen years growing up in Monterey, CA. He chose the Marines after high school, serving his country proudly and with honor. He then settled in Long Beach, CA, where he lived until moving to Oskaloosa in 2004. He truly enjoyed everything about Iowa, and Oskaloosa in particular. He also leaves behind a special companion, always at his side family dog, Molly.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by a daughter, Katie Vilcone on January 23, 2014.

Memorial services for Dennis will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, August 7, at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Howe of the Lifehouse Community Church officiating.
Military Honors will follow the service.
Visitation – The family will greet visitors at the funeral chapel from 5 p.m. to service time on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations be made to Aylah Vilcone to be deposited into her college fund at Community 1st Credit Union.
