Ricky Fenton, 65, of Oskaloosa passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 15, 2014, at Jefferson Place in Pella, Iowa.
Ricky Lee Fenton, son of Harley Sr. and Dorothy Marie (Fleener) Fenton, was born, July 13, 1949, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Ricky attended Oskaloosa Schools.
Following his education, Ricky was inducted into the U.S. Army., May 15, 1968; and he served 14 months in Italy. Throughout his working years, Ricky was employed by Cunningham’s Inc., Kaiser Corp., and then as a self-employed welder and carpenter, focusing on home remodeling.
Ricky’s family includes five daughters: Paula (Gordon) Grubb of Oskaloosa, Lori (Gary) Harkness of Tracy, Claudia Blizzard of Oskaloosa, Libby Fenton of Oskaloosa and Ashley Perez Fenton of the Philippines; his siblings: Sandy (Chris) DeHaan of Oskaloosa, Mary Ann Ferguson of Grinnell, Harley (Donna) Fenton and Mike (Karen) Fenton.
In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Mattix and Beverly Masterson.
As was Ricky’s wish, his body has been cremated and his ashes will be buried privately at Friends Cemetery in Oskaloosa.
