Oskaloosa Storm Wins Super Line Drive Super NIT Tournament
The 12 U Oskaloosa Storm won the Super Line Drive NIT Tournament. The Storm went 5-0 for the weekend and was swinging for the championship rings. The boys battled the rain delays to play a full five games on Sunday. The boys played the Riders and won 16-1 with an over the fence home run by Tyson Breuklander. The second pool game they faced the Westfield Warriors from Nebraska and defeated them 15-9 with an over the fence home run by Tyler Miller and another one from Tyson Breuklander. The boys went into bracket play as a #3 seed and faced the Tribe of West Des Moines for a 5-3 victory to advance to the semifinal game. The boys once again faced the Riders from Des Moines and went on a hitting spree to defeat them 14-2. During this game the Storm had three over the fence home runs from Colton Butler, Noah Van Veldhuizen, and Iszac Schultz. The Storm advanced to the championship game to battle the Shockers of Winterset. The championship was a back and forth battle but the Storm prevailed with tough defense and won 5-3. The Storm will be competing in the State Championship this weekend and will wrap up the season at the Hoedown Tournament in Wisconsin.
