Oskaloosa Y's Men's Club Annual Christmas Tree Sale

Oskaloosa Y’s Men have set up shop once again in the corner of Mahaska Drug’s parking lot. Every year they donate the space for them to use so they can help raise money for different things that the Y does, such as Y day camp, and programs for the youth.

All of the tree’s (approximately 250) come from Michigan and they sell most all but just a handful that are real “scrub” tree’s that never found a home.

The tree sale has been going on since the club originated. “I been in this club since 1965, and we were doing it then.” said Don Swim”14 years before I was born.” joked Mike Sytsma, a club member and one of those helping to work the tree sale.

Prices vary for the tree’s, Fraser Fir’s range from $33.00 to $49.00 while Scotch Pines range $21.00 to $30.00 and finally white pines are around $25.00.

This is the first year without Charlie Kentfield. Kentfield was a charter member and was active with the tree sales for over 50 years.

The stand is open Saturdays 11:00 to 5:00 and Sunday threw Friday 1:00 to 6:00. You can contact Don at 641.660.7534 if you have any other questions.
