GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Frank Canady ’14 has been named to the Academic All-District Men’s Track and Field/Cross Country Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced next month. To be nominated for the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.

Canady, from Iowa City, Iowa (West), was a two-time Midwest Conference cross country champion, qualifying for the NCAA Division III National Championships both years. He won the 5,000- and 10,000-meter runs at the 2014 MWC Outdoor Track and Field Championships after claiming the 10,000 crown in 2013.

He ranks second on Grinnell’s all-time 10,000 chart.
