Dance Team Brings Home Bronze from Nationals

WPU was second in the prelims and third in the finals

Daytona, Fla.–In its first trip to the big show, the William Penn Competitive Dance team won hardware at the NCA/NDA College Nationals Friday.

The team placed third out of ten teams in the NAIA Small Team Performance Division with a final score of 8.520.

The Statesmen advanced out of Thursday’s preliminary round with a second-place score of 8.452. Ottawa (Kan.) topped the prelims at 8.695. Six schools advanced to Friday’s finals where Ottawa again led the way at 8.792. Davenport (Mich.) was second at 8.734.

“We left it all on the floor and put WPU on the map in competitive dance,” Head Coach Lisa Conner said. “The team and I cannot wait to come back next season and look better than ever.”
