William Penn Women’s Golf 2014

Oskaloosa–A three-tourney win streak has assisted the Statesmen women’s golf team to a positive move as the NAIA’s third top-25 poll was released Friday.

William Penn jumps one spot to 22nd in the current rating with 151 points. It is the second-highest ranking in school history, behind being a school-record #21 last November.

The top five does not change with SCAD Savannah (Ga.) still on top with 466 points and 15 first-place votes. Oklahoma City, with the final two first-place votes, is second, while Cumberlands (Ky.), British Columbia, and Northwood (Fla.) round out the top five. Only eight squads from the top 25 had any movement from the last poll (none in the top eight).

Fellow Midwest Collegiate Conference foes Grand View (#31) and Mount Mercy (#37) are also receiving votes.

WPU will travel to Booneville, Mo. next Monday and Tuesday to compete in the Central Methodist Open at Hail Ridge Golf Course).
