Death Investigation in Oskaloosa, Iowa

Oskaloosa, IOWA — The Oskaloosa Police Department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are working a death investigation regarding an 18 month old girl in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

On Friday, January 24, 2014, at approximately 2:11p.m., the Oskaloosa Police Department received a 911 call from Apartment 224 at the Southern Hills Apartment Complex located at 18th Avenue East in Oskaloosa. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the 18 month old girl deceased.

An autopsy was conducted over the weekend by the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny, Iowa. The autopsy results are still pending at this time.

The investigation by the Oskaloosa Police Department and the Division of Criminal Investigation continues. The death is being treated as suspicious. Since the investigation is continuing, there will be no other information released at this time.
