William Penn Students Gather To Honor One Of Their Own

Oskaloosa, Iowa – A candlelight vigil was held Sunday at 10:00 pm to honor the memory of William Penn freshman Renell Perkins outside the new Market Street dormitory. Students and staff were in the mix.

William Penn student William Smead talked about the gathering as, “Very subdued.”

William Penn University announced the accidental death of freshman Renell Perkins on Thursday, October 24.

Oskaloosa Police and Paramedics on the scene reported that the death seems to be associated with diabetes and insulin related complications. An official cause of death is yet to be determined.
