It’s that time of year again when citizens of Oskaloosa get to exercise their right to vote and make a difference at our local level. I recall writing a letter of support for Scottie Moore back in 2009 and I have more confidence than ever that she is the right person in the right place in serving as an Oskaloosa City Council member.

Our community and county elections should be about the election of competent and effective leadership for the future of our community and those that live, work, play, visit, and provide services and jobs here. We have experienced that leadership these past couple years with city Government.

Scottie Moore has shown that she can do the research, discuss and make sound decisions based on knowledge and input from the community. I look at Oskaloosa, and the progress that has been made that is possible due to the assistance of sound decisions from our council. These areas include, recreation opportunities for all ages, the Green street project that was collaborative with the county, a plan and beginning for street repairs such as South 7th and now C Ave and North 3rd. I also noticed the city tax levy is lower than in years past.

We are very fortunate in this community to have several solid employers that support improvements and enhancements to the overall quality of life here in Oskaloosa. These improvements only make it more appealing to families and even former residents moving back to live here. It takes leaders with a vision and a piece of Oskaloosa in their Heart in order for them to share their time, expertise, and enthusiasm for our community and our future. Scottie is that person for a second term with the City Council at large position. Please support the re-election of Scottie Moore for City Council, at Large. Her HEART is in the RIGHT PLACE!
