“Poker Hike”

The Mahaska County Conservation Board and the Mahaska Wellness Coalition are hosting their second annual “Poker Hike” as their Live Healthy Hike activity in July. The “Poker Hike” will take place on Saturday, July 20 at 10:00 am. Participants can meet at the Russell Wildlife Area’s conservation center prior to the hike for rules and hiking directions. At this event, hikers will hike the trails at their own pace, and when they meet a volunteer on the trails, they will receive a playing card to create a poker hand. The child and adult hikers with the best poker hands will win prizes. Prizes such as free canoe rentals and free Youth Outdoor Field Day registrations will be available. For more information, contact the Mahaska County Conservation Board at (641)673-9327.
