OSKALOOSA, IA — From Broadway tunes to sweeping arias, music plays an important role in the theatrical world. And the Daily Youth Theatre is going to be learning how to sing, dance, and act all at the same time during a weeklong summer camp!

The class, taught by professional singer and director Allison Lingren, will be held at the George Daily Auditorium on July 15 – 19. Lingren holds a Masters degree in vocal performance and has been teaching since 2005.

“I had lots of fun, I really enjoyed it, and I can’t wait to come back!” says 4th grader Rachel Frost.

Camp runs Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students should bring two snacks, a lunch, and closed toe shoes. Register in advance by contacting the George Daily Auditorium, or come on Monday morning!

Every session ends with a showcase on Friday at 2:30 p.m. so that campers have a chance to show off what they’ve learned and created.

The Musical Theatre class is open to students entering 1st grade through 8th grade. The cost is $75 for the week, with discounts for families that attend multiple weeks or enroll multiple students. Financial aid is also available.

Contact the George Daily Auditorium for more information by visiting the office, calling 641-672-3795, on the web at www.georgedaily.org/youth/summer-theatre-camp, or by emailing youth@georgedaily.org.
