Deadline For School Board Nomination Papers Is August 1

Deadline for the September 10, 2013 School Election is Thursday, August 1 at 5:00 P.M. with the School Board Secretary. Nomination papers are available at their office, other school districts or through the Secretary of State’s website (www.sos.state.ia.us/elections/auditors).

Director District #4 and Director District #5 for North Mahaska School District will be on the ballot. Candidates will need at least 10 signatures on their nomination petition to be placed on the ballot. Only eligible voters of North Mahaska DD#4 may sign the petition for candidates of DD#4. Only eligible voters of North Mahaska DD#5 may sign the petition for candidates of DD#5.

Indian Hills Director District #1 will also be on the North Mahaska Ballot. All eligible voters in North Mahaska School District will vote on this position.

Oskaloosa School District will have Director Districts #2, #5, At Large, (each for 4 year term ending 2017) #3 for unexpired term ending 2015, and #6 for a 2 year term ending 2015. Candidates will need at least 50 signatures on their petition to be placed the ballot. Any eligible voter of Oskaloosa School District may sign nomination papers for any of these positions.
