This is the scene at a two car accident that claimed the life of a Bloomfield woman.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – An accident at the intersection of Gateway Drive and Highway 92 (A Ave West) in Oskaloosa, between a pickup truck and a car, was called in at 12:17 p.m., March 30th.

According to an initial report by the Iowa State Patrol, a 1993 Ford Mustang, driven by Zachary Clark, was traveling westbound on Highway 92 and was struck by a 2006 GMC Sierra, also westbound, driven by Marion Vink, 72, of Pella, Iowa.

The accident claimed the life of Ariel Thomas, 20, of Bloomfield, Iowa. Thomas was a passenger in the Mustang driven by Clark. Thomas was transported to Mahaska Health Partnership.

Zachary Clark, 21, of Oskaloosa, Iowa was transported by MHP Emergency Services for injuries sustained in the collision.

No other reports of injury were included in the preliminary accident report.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Oskaloosa Police Department, The Oskaloosa Fire Department and Mahaska Health Partnership Emergency Services.

The accident is still currently under investigation.
