Woman Abducted By Man with Machete

Ottumwa, Iowa – On December 18th, 2012, at approximately 8:20 PM, the Ottumwa Police Department received a report of a disturbance at 203 S. Adams Street in Ottumwa. Upon officers arrival it was reported a female at that residence was assaulted and forcibly removed from the residence by an individual who was armed with a machete. Officers were able to locate the victim and suspect a short time later. Abraham Anthony Barraza, age 30, of Ottumwa was arrested and charged with Kidnapping 2nd Degree, a class “B” Felony. He is currently being held in the Wapello County Jail on a $100,000.00 cash only bond.

Barraza also had outstanding arrest warrants charging him with Serious Assault and Serious Domestic Abuse stemming from an incident that occurred at 203 South Adams Street on Monday December 17, 2012.
