Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Dorian Festival is an annual event that takes place at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Select choir students from the Midwest, and various other states farther away, participate in this event. It is the largest festival choir in the United States with over 1400 singers in the choir.

Students who are chosen for this event are treated to a concert on one of the days that features a top high school choir as well as one of Luther College’s world class ensembles. During the grand concert another Luther College ensemble performs. Not only is this a great honor and memorable experience for young singers, but also it is truly a spectacle to behold being an audience member at this concert. The audience sits in balcony seats while the choir performs beneath them.

Countless compositions that have become choral music staples have been debuted at this event. Oskaloosa High School has five singers that, having received a recommendation from choir director Mr.Weinreich, were chosen to take part in this festival which is to be held on January 13th and 14th.
