Oskaloosa Iowa Water Supply Flooding

Mahaska County residents have spoken clearly that they would like to be able to request a reduction in their sanitary sewer bill if a catastrophic event occurs.  19 residents (73%) voted yes. 7 residents (27%) voted no. This past week, the Oskaloosa City Council voted unanimously to disallow sanitary sewer bill reductions. This week’s question relates to the 2010 floods. Where ever you went, it seemed that emergency management was there. Emergency management also worked on a couple of water rescues and even bought a boat for our fire department.

However, some residents believe that Emergency Management was not prepared for these past few week’s record floods. These people believe that many of the things they did were not out of the ordinary and it is their jobs to do these things. Now its your turn to decide. Please vote in our poll on the left hand side. The results of this poll will be released next Monday.
