OSKALOOSA –Oskaloosa Girl Scouts spent the afternoon bowling recently, and also worked to strike out hunger in the community. Sixty-one girls donated 154 canned goods given to Oskaloosa’s Ecumenical Cupboard, and as a bonus spent two hours bowling and eating pizza at Excit-A-Bowl Lanes in Pella.

Oskaloosa Girl Scouts have a commitment to community service, and strive to find ways to give back, as well as have a great time in the process.

The Girl Scouts’ next event will be November 29 during the Lighted Christmas Parade where they will have two bake sale tables, one in front of Anarchy Ink Tattoo Shop, and the other at Mike Broerman’s Law Office. Proceeds from the bake sale tables will be used to offset camp costs for girls who attend Girl Scout camp each summer.
