What Cheer Woman Dies In Accident

What Cheer, Iowa – The Iowa State Patrol has released a minimal crash report on an accident that happened Sunday evening at approximately 9:20 pm when a vehicle struck a pedestrian.

According to the accident report, a 2000 Dodge Caravan driven by 15 year old Adam Gragg was driving east on West Washington St. in What Cheer and struck a pedestrian.

Christine Smith, 37, was walking east in the street of West Washington St when the accident happened and was transported by ambulance to Keokuk County Hospital.

The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. No other information is currently available, says a representative from the patrol’s district office.
