Helen Margaret Weber, 93, of Oskaloosa and formerly of Keokuk , died Sunday, August 5, 2012, at the Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born May 27, 1919, in Lee County, Iowa the daughter of Sadie James Cauley. She graduated from the Keokuk High School in Keokuk, Iowa, with the class of 1938. She was united in marriage to Bernard Weber in Keokuk, Bernard later died. Helen worked at Shelor Globe Corporation in Keokuk for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Keokuk. She enjoyed her flower garden, and watching and feeding the animals. When her son Lloyd was in the Navy, Helen was very active in the Vietnam/Navy Veterans Moms group, they sent countless care packages to the soldiers in Vietnam.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Lloyd and Marilyn Weber of Oskaloosa; two granddaughters, Sara DeRonde of Oskaloosa and Shelly (& Dustin) Donohue of Cedar Rapids; five great grandchildren, Kayla, Autumn, and Eric DeRonde, Jacob and Ella Donohue.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother.
Graveside Funeral services and burial will be on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa, with the Reverend David Turner officiating. A procession will form at 10:10 Thursday morning at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, for those wishing to go to the service. Visitation will begin Wednesday after 1 p.m. in the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk and the family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 Wednesday evening to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
