Dieleman named Central strength assistant

Central College

PELLA— Former Central College graduate Trevor Dieleman is the school’s new assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Dieleman, a 2006 Central grad, served the last year as an assistant strength coach for football at the University of Pittsburg. He spent two years at the University of Tulsa after working as a graduate assistant at Illinois State University, where he earned a master’s degree in kinesiology and recreation. Dieleman also gained experience as a student coach at Iowa State University.

“Trevor has a lot of experience working at many different places with pretty much every athletic program,” said Kyle Johnson, Central’s head strength and conditioning coach.

Dieleman is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and a Level 1 member of the United States Weightlifting Association. He is a Pella, Iowa native.

While at Central, Dieleman was student assistant under former strength coach Jake Anderson. Dieleman worked closely with the football, wrestling and baseball programs and mentored student interns.

“Trevor knows Central and is familiar with our athletic programs and athletic tradition,” Johnson said. “He’s a great fit. He has an incredible work ethic and has a ton of excitement and passion for coaching.”

Dieleman began his duties at Central Aug. 1.
