Stephen Memorial Deals With Over Abundance Of Kittens

These kittens enjoyed some playtime at Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter on Wednesday

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The space at Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter is running out as the crop of new kittens arriving continues to tax the available space.

So in order to help find the kittens a new home, and also help make room for more incoming kittens, the shelter is running a special on their playful guests. Adult cats over one year of age, their adoption fees have been waived with a donation to the shelters wish list. (List at the bottom of this article)

With more than 40 cats, the need to make room for others is a growing concern. “In my opinion, two is always better than one,” Vanessa Lourens says about adopting cats. “Everybody needs to have at least two kittens,” Vanessa says with a smile. This way, there is always a playmate around.

The next three Fridays in a row, July 20th, July 27th and August 3rd, you can join the shelter for ‘Free Kitten Fridays’. The adoption fee of the kitten is waived with the donation of an item from their wishlist. (List at the bottom of this article)
