Oskaloosa, Iowa – Mahaska Hospice Auxiliary & MCG again teamed up with Musco Lighting to “Golf Under the Lights” on May 25 at Oskaloosa Golf and raised more than $21,000 for MHP Hospice Services.
According to Mahaska Hospice Auxiliary Golf Co-Chair Mary Anderson, an hour rain delay did not dampen the enthusiasm of the 108 golfers or the many auxiliary volunteers. “It did get a little chilly after the sun went down and the wind came up, but everyone had a good time and most important, we raised over $21,000 to benefit hospice patients in our community.”
Through team entry fees, corporate hole sponsorships, donations, putting contest entry fees, raffle ticket sales, and the Musco donation from their employee night of golfing before the tournament, Golf Under the Lights committee were able to present a check for $21,085.00 to MHP Hospice Services. Half of the proceeds went to the MHP Hospice Serenity House and the other half to Mahaska Hospice Auxiliary to buy equipment for hospice patients or to assist patients financially.
Mary said more than 40 Mahaska Hospice Auxiliary volunteers helped to make the golf tournament a success, including those who helped secure sponsors. Once again, the community was very generous in their support of this tournament.
Hole sponsors were: Musco Sports Lighting, Midwest One Bank, Industrial Commercial Insulation, Rehab Visions, Mahaska Health Partnership, Town Square Dental, B&B Bedding, Cablevey, Southeast Iowa Geriatric Care, Henkel Construction, Bank Iowa, Sodexo, Bates Funeral Chapel, Baird Holm, Mahaska Drug, American Cleaning Services, Edward Jones Investments, Glaco Midwest, Midwest Sanitation & Recycling, Bags by Bizzle, Schumacher Elevator Company, Van Zante Photography, Clow Valve Company, Lappin Tire, Overbergen Electric, Casey’s General Stores, Harvest Point & Edmundson Golf Courses, Subway, Oskaloosa Glass & Millworks, KBOE Radio, Oskaloosa Vision Center, Oskaloosa Golf and Carriker Ford.
Anderson said a huge thank you goes to Oskaloosa Golf, Dr. Salami’s, all who golfed, volunteered, and gave very generous donations to make “Golf Under the Lights” a success. “Most important, we could not have had such a successful tournament without the generous support of our friends at MCG and Musco Lighting.”
