L to R: Ken Rozenboom - RHTF member, Kent Peterson - Mahaska HfH President, Blane Vos – Mahaska HfH Executive Director, and Rob Taylor - RHTF Chairman

The AHEAD Regional Housing Trust Fund (RHTF) provided funds to Mahaska County Habitat for Humanity (HfH) to assist in the completion of its 16th housing unit. This housing unit is the first “Green Building” project for Mahaska County Habitat for Humanity as well as the first “Green Building” home in all of Mahaska County.

Blane Vos, Mahaska County HfH Executive Director noted that “the AHEAD RHTF is an important partner in addressing affordable housing needs. The RHTF leverages more State Housing Trust Fund dollars than any other single agency in the region.”

The mission of the AHEAD RHTF is to expand affordable housing opportunities to low to moderate income households throughout Davis, Jefferson, Keokuk, Mahaska, Van Buren and Wapello counties.

Current RHTF programs include: tenant based rent/utility assistance, owner-occupied/rental housing rehabilitation, and special project funding for housing activities sponsored by eligible non-profit/for profit entities.
