Grand Opening For Skate Park Is Set

Even though the skate park may look completed, crews point towards unseen hazards at this point to unauthorized users of the facility

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The sounds of machines filled the area of the new skate park as crews hurry to get sod in place for the upcoming grand opening of one of Oskaloosa’s newest amenities.

Just one more piece of concrete is left to be poured, and of course the sod along with fencing and the finishing touches on the gazebo are all that remains of the project. And for all you basketball enthusiasts, they will make sure to paint the lines on the basketball court.

MCRF Director Sherry Vavra recently set the public Grand Opening for Sunday May 6th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

With a quick inspection, it appears the facility has already seen its share of use. Many marks on the cement from skate boards can be found as Oskaloosa’s younger crowd has already found their way into the facility when construction crews have left for the evening.
