Pedestrian struck in Pella accident

An October 12th accident leaves a pedestrian injured. This happened just south of Main Street and Lincoln Street in Pella at 12:40 pm.  The 2008 Ford driven by 23 year old Joshua Boone driving north. Boone, going around 2 parked utility vans that were doing utility work.

Mark Hayes the pedestrian suddenly appeared in the road right after the last van, and Boone was unable to avoid him. After impact Boone’s SUV was then pointed west in the street after having slammed on the brakes and attempting to stop. Hayes was transported by ambulance to the Pella Hospital and his condition is unknown at this time. Boone received no injuries.
