Louise Morris
Oskaloosa. Louise Morris, 86, of Oskaloosa, died Monday, March 5, 2012, at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born January 31, 1926, in the West Des Moines township of Mahaska County, the daughter of Arthur T. and Iris Wymore Heckenberg. Louise graduated from the Eddyville High School with the class of 1944. On October 22, 1966, she was united in marriage to Rex J. Morris at Oskaloosa, and he died June 27, 1992. Louise was the secretary to the Mahaska County Engineer for 35 years before retiring. She thoroughly enjoyed her years working at the courthouse. Louise enjoyed sewing, painting, and tending to her garden and flowers. She also enjoyed traveling with family and friends.
There are no immediate survivors.
Besides her husband, Louise was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 9, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend Michael Omundson officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Thursday after 11 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and close friends of Louise will be at the funeral chapel from Thursday from 5 — 7 pm to greet visitors. Memorials may be made to the Stephens Memorial Animal Shelter.
