Alan Douglas (11) in recent action against Viterbo

Oskaloosa–Alan Douglas (Sr., Champaign, Ill., Lakeland CC) has been lighting up the scoreboards all year and his contributions have finally been noticed as he was named Midwest Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week today.

Douglas, a first-time honoree, guided the Statesmen (8-9, 3-2 MCC) to two victories over Viterbo and Iowa Wesleyan last week.

The senior averaged 29.0 points and 10.5 rebounds, including 32 points against the V-Hawks. He has scored at least 26 points in five straight games and is averaging an MCC-best 28.0 points per contest.

For the year, Douglas is scoring 21.5 points per game and pulling down 9.2 rebounds per matchup. He has also posted 52 assists, seven blocks, and 14 steals. A 50.0% shooter, Douglas also tops William Penn at the free-throw line (79.2%) and is 33.3% from the perimeter. He has recorded eight double-doubles this season.

The award is the first for the program this year.
