Book Vault

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Please welcome William Penn graduate and Oskaloosa native Jim Duermeyer as he comes to Book Vault to introduce his debut book, Heroes in Obscurity, a collection of anecdotal stories narrating the contributions of a small group of unsung Navy men during the Viet Nam era.

Jim will also speak about his second book, Flint Bluff, a work of historical fiction about the struggles of two families as they settle in the wilderness now known as Burlington, Iowa from 1833-1900.

Born in Oskaloosa, James Duermeyer and his wife Janet currently live in North Richland Hills, Texas. He holds a BA degree from William Penn University in Social Science/Business.
James completed twenty years in the Navy Reserves, holding numerous billets including two Commanding Officer positions, and retired at the rank of Commander.

Please join Book Vault as we welcome home “one of our own.”
Refreshments will be served following Jim’s presentation and book signing.
