William Penn University Athletics

Oskaloosa–Taylor Parsons (So., The Woodlands, Texas, College Park HS) was a big factor in helping the Statesmen football team get back on the winning trail as he was named an Offensive Player of the Week by Beyond Sports Network.

Parsons helped #9 William Penn (7-1, 3-1 MWL) to a 38-16 win over St. Mary (Kan.).

The sophomore rushed 17 times for a season-high 159 yards and one touchdown. He also passed for 37 yards.

William Penn recorded 464 yards on the ground to rebound from its first loss of the year a week earlier.

For the season, Parsons has 630 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 95 carries. In addition to his strong running numbers, he has completed 32 of 73 passes for 589 yards and seven scores as well.

The award is the third given to the football program this fall.
