BBQ And Homecoming

Miranda Johnson (center) chats with other Rotary Members at their annual BBQ

Oskaloosa, Iowa – One seems to go with the other, as people scurry around preparing for the homecoming parade, the Rotary Club of Oskaloosa is busy prepping for their annual Bar-B-Q. If you bought your ticket before the 4 pm serving time, you could get away with a $7.00 meal, after that time the price rose to $8.00.

The group serves around 1500 meals each year, with Hy-Vee there to help. This year, the meal included a pork chop, cheesy potatoes, a roll, and baked beans all served with a bottle of water.

The Rotary Club was established to help eradicate polio and still works in Afghanistan, India, Nigeria and Pakistan.
