‘Little Dog’ Update – How He is Doing

Oskaloosa, Iowa – It’s been nearly a month since the day I first got to meet ‘Little Dog’. I am sure it’s a day that little guy would prefer not to remember.
If you missed the story, here is the LINK TO IT.
I found the home of ‘Little Dog’ today. I was curious as to how he was doing after all this time. I walked around the area and eventually spotted him laying down in his dog house just enjoying a fall day.
The doors were open at the house, so I walked up and knocked, and ‘Little Dog’s’ owner answered the door. Kevin Lyman helped me finally put a name to ‘Little Dog’, so fromĀ here on out, I will call him by his proper name of Dave.
Dave is about 8 years old, and Kevin says that he was pretty beat up from the experience.
After we had last seen Dave, he was riding off in the Stephen Memorial truck, and there they had taken him to the vet. Kevin informed us that Dave had suffered road rash. [just in case you care now lady]
Kevin said his dog Dave did limp around for a couple of days, and was shaking and not himself yet at all once he was returned to him. Dave required some antibiotic cream and pain killers for a time until he was healed up. “It was just a matter of three or four days and we were out walking two to three times a day around the block. I can’t believe how fast dogs recover. He’s totally recovered. The road rash is gone. He gets around as easy as he had before. It’s just surprising.”
Kevin said he was very happy with the fact that the shelter helped out Dave and of course is very happy he recovered. Kevin was actually on his way to Stephen Memorial when they pulled up with Dave to return him home.
Thank You to Stephen Memorial for helping Dave get back home.
