I-80 Crash In Poweshiek County Claims The Life Of Four
Malcom, Iowa – Four people have died after a mufti-vehicle accident shuts down portions of Interstate 80 near the 188 mile marker. The crash occurred shortly after 7 pm Tuesday the 13th. I-80 westbound was shut down and did not reopen until after 5 am Wednesday morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says in reports that two tow trucks were assisting a flat bed semi that had broken down. Three of the subjects were outside their vehicles when Driver Terrell side swiped the first tow truck and then struck the disabled semi-truck pushing it into the tow truck ahead of it.
All four were pronounced dead at the scene. 29 year old Jesse Inman, driver for Hanifen Towing, Des Moines. 50 year old James Langholf, driver for Howe Trucking of Illinois. 60 year old Daniel Walsh, driver for Hanifen Towing Des Moines. 54 year old Herbert Terrll, driver for Hiner Trucking.
