Ames, Iowa – Being up early on a Saturday is rough enough, but having to drag all your gear for a performance when the bus is scheduled to leave at 8 a.m. is daunting enough. Members of the praise and worship team from Oskaloosa’s Jubilee Family Church did just that.
Answering a call to perform for a Presidential Candidate is something the team looked forward to, so gear in tow they made the bus trip to Ames for their performance at Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s tent during the Straw Poll.
The performance kicked off around 11:30 am on the stage in her air conditioned tent. Jeff and Holly Ridenour of Oskaloosa said “Playing in Michele Bachmann’s tent was a great honor. Made all the more fun by the fact that she won!”
They shared the stage of country music great Randy Travis and others just before all the speeches and the votes were counted.
Oskaloosa’s Jim Walker said “Being able to be part of my church P&W team as they sang for maybe the next president was a great honor and a chance of a lifetime. I was laughing talking to the guys coming home yesterday, maybe we get to sing at the ball when she is sworn in.”
Jubilee Family Church does not endorse Michele Bachmann or ANY political candidate.
