FREE WEEK for City of Oskaloosa residents to bring items to the landfill

Oskaloosa, Iowa – To accommodate City of Oskaloosa residents that have items they would like to get rid of this year, the Mahaska County Solid Waste Management Commission has agreed to provide a Free Week for City of Oskaloosa residents to bring items to the landfill at 2979 Hwy. 63 from Monday through Friday, July 25 through July 29, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Items that may be brought to the landfill include furniture, appliances (limit 3 per household), tires with or without rims (limit 10 per household), and NO commercial vendors), construction material, and other large, bulky items the garbage haulers will not pick up (NO HOUSEHOLD WASTE IN THE LOAD). Usual exclusions apply. If in doubt about an item or if you have any questions regarding these items, contact the Public Works Department at 673-6885, or Mahaska County Solid Waste Management at 673-9266.
