Oskaloosa City Council approves agreement with YMCA
Oskaloosa, Iowa- The Oskaloosa City Council met in regular session Monday with Mayor Pro-Tem Pam Blomgren presiding. The council had several different requests from the General Public and from the various department heads within the city. The council unanimously approved an agreement between the Oskaloosa YMCA and the City for use of the pool. The agreement is for the YMCA to hold a water aerobics class at the Edmundson Pool.
Under the agreement, the YMCA will not be charged for the use of the pool and anyone using the pool at the time of the class will be welcome to join in. The class will be held on Monday’s and Wednesdays at the pool from 6:15 PM to 7:00 PM. The agreement states the class will run from June 13th to August 17th of the 2011 swimming season. In other action, the council:
- Unanimously approved a request from True Value Hardware to use parking spaces to display merchandise during Art on the Square and Ridiculous Days
- Unanimously approved a rezoning request for Property at 1510 Edmundson Drive
- Unanimously approved a proposal for Employee Life Insurance, Health Insurance, and Flex Plan for fiscal year 2012
- Unanimously approved pay request number three from Cornerstone Excavating for the Northwest Sanitary Sewer Project
- Unanimously approved a resolution to set June 20th as the public hearing regarding changes to the City of Oskaloosa Ward and Precinct Boundaries.
The next meeting of the Oskaloosa City Council will be on June 20th at 6:30 PM in the City Council Chambers.
