William Penn Awards Scholarships
As a proud member of the Oskaloosa Community, William Penn University has been honored to guide many local students as they work toward and receive their college degrees. The fall 2011 semester will be no different. Though over a dozen Oskaloosa graduates have already pledged their allegiance to William Penn for the upcoming school year, there are three specific students who were honored at the Oskaloosa High School awards banquet in May. Samantha Allgood, Jenna Medlin, and Nicole Presley were awarded academic scholarships for their pre-collegiate achievements while at Oskaloosa High School. The requirements that must be met in order to be eligible to receive an academic scholarship are: a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and a minimum ACT score of 20. These ladies have more than met those requirements and will attend William Penn as freshman this fall. The academic scholarships that these three students have been awarded from William Penn University, with the help of many business leaders in the community, will range in amount from $38,000 to $67,000 over the course of four years. The academic scholarships that they’ve been awarded, in combination with other grants and scholarships they will receive will boost their award packages to over $200,000 throughout the course of their academic careers. William Penn University, along with the Oskaloosa Community, would like to congratulate these scholarship winners and welcome them as they take on a new journey and find themselves at Penn.
