Rule Returns to Bolster Linkster Group

Mayci Rule owned a 91.1 stroke average as a Lady Statesmen golfer two years ago

Oskaloosa–William Penn University women’s golf coach Nik Rule has announced the signing of Mayci Rule to a National Letter of Intent to attend the University in the fall and compete for the women’s golf program.

Mayci, the daughter of Milton and Shonni Rule, returns to William Penn after spending a year at Boise State University.

A varsity letterwinner during the 2008-2009 season, Rule owned a 91.1 stroke average over 10 1/2 rounds. She posted four rounds in the 80s and led the Lady Statesmen in two tournaments. Rule finished 13th at the league championships that year.

“Mayci is an accomplished player at the high school and college level, so when she contacted us with interest in coming back, we knew it would only strengthen the core that we had last season,” Rule said. “She wants to play serious college golf and we have built this team into a serious golf program.”

“Adding Mayci to the group that we have returning and the freshmen that we have coming in will continue to make us one of the deeper teams in the conference.”
