Keith Neubert

Oskaloosa. Keith Neubert, 30, of Oskaloosa died Friday, May 20, 2011, at his home in Oskaloosa, due to complications from type 1 diabetes. He was born November 18, 1980, at Clinton, Iowa, the son of David and Ruth (McCartney) Neubert. He moved from Camanche, Iowa, to Oskaloosa in 1997 with his family. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1999. He furthered his education at William Penn University and finished at Indian Hills Community College where he earned his A.A. in Computer Programming. He began working for Rain and Hail Insurance in Johnston; most recently he was employed by Clow Valve in Oskaloosa as a computer programmer. Keith enjoyed working with, and playing games on the computer. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends. His world revolved around his son Logan, and he took pride in being a great dad.

His family includes his son, Logan Neubert of Oskaloosa; his parents: David and Ruth Neubert of Oskaloosa; a sister and her husband: Karen and Richard Fairchild of Eddyville; three nieces: Julia Fairchild, Katie Fairchild, and Lily Fairchild; his paternal grandparents: JoAnne and Eugene Neubert of Clinton; an aunt: Gina Houzenga of Clinton; and two cousins: Andrew and Justin Houzenga; many relatives in Wisconsin and a very special friend, Fonda Whitten of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Vernon and Leona McCartney; and his great-grandparents.

Funeral services for Keith Neubert will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend Richard Grimes officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Tuesday morning after 10 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 6—8 Tuesday evening to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the Logan Neubert Education Fund, C/O Peoples State Bank, Albia, Iowa.
