Another Area Crash Claims The Life Of A Lovilia Woman
In a report by the Iowa State Patrol, a fatal crash took the life of a Lovilia woman near the junction of Highway 92 and Marion County road T-17. The accident happened at 6:41 p.m. on the 18th of May.
The 2000 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Roland Shelford of Lovilia was traveling South on T-17. After approaching Highway 92, the Malibu of Shelford’s proceeded to cross Highway 92 South, when it was struck by the Eastbound 1995 Ford F-150 driven by Gary Rodgers of Humeston Iowa.
The Malibu came to rest in the Southeast Ditch, while the F-150 came to rest on the Eastbound shoulder of Highway 92. The passenger in the Malibu, Rowena Shelford, also of Lovilia, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shelford and Rodgers were both transported to the hospital in Knoxville. Their conditions are unknown at this time. The passenger of the F-150 was not injured.
The accident is under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
