Obituary:
Sylvia May Beers was born November 18, 1918 in Bixby, Missouri the daughter of Ransom and Nellie (Martin) Beers.
She was raised in the Viburnum, Missouri area. In February of 1937 Sylvia was united in marriage to Hubert Nash. The couple made their home outside of Bunker, Missouri and in 1957 they moved their family to Iowa. Sylvia worked a housekeeper in Knoxville for many years, and as a CAN at DeJong’s Nursing home. In May of 1992, Sylvia was united in marriage to Wesley Watson in Turtle, Missouri. Following Wesley’s death, she returned to Knoxville in 2004.
Sylvia passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at her home at the age of 92 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jody Nash; daughter-in-law, Nancy Nash; grandson, Brandon Nash; great-granddaughter, Bridget Becker; great-great granddaughter, Lindsey Beaman and her siblings: Dolly, Etha, Troy, Dale, Utah and Coy.
Those left to mourn her passing include her children: Donald (Betty) Radford of Pana, IL; Charles (Marge) Nash of Vandalia, IL; Jim (Judy) Nash of Griggsville, IL; Gary (Shirley) Nash of Pittsfield, IL; Sharon (Wayne) Johnson of Knoxville; Ronald (Ronda) Nash of Vandalia, IL; Richard (Vickie) Nash of Ramsey, Il; Shirley (Jim) Beaman of Knoxville; David (Patty) Nash of Greenvalley, IL and Mary (Kevin) Groenendyk of Tracy; 35 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Suzi Temmens of Oconee, IL and many other family members and friends.
