Central sends eight to NCAA indoor meet

PELLA—Eight Central College athletes made the final cut for the NCAA Division III indoor track and field meet Friday and Saturday at Columbus, Ohio.

The meet will be staged at Capital University.

Iowa Conference indoor field events MVP Ethan Miller (junior, Seymour) heads the list. He’s the top-ranked qualifier in the long jump (24-feet, 1.75 inches) while he and Kurtis Brondyke (junior, Clinton) are one-two in the pentathlon with 3,876 and 3,759 points respectively. Miller is also in the high jump, where he ranks 11th (6-8.75). And Matt Graber (senior, Newton) returns in the shot put, ranking 13th (53-7).

For the women, Jill Ziskovsky (senior, Dallas Center, Dallas Center-Grimes HS) is competing in the pentathlon, ranking fourth (3,354). Ziskovsky, Felicia Coleman (sophomore, Houston, Texas, Frank Dobie HS), Rachel Purdy (sophomore, Ankeny) and Emily Teas (senior, Indianola) also rank fourth in the 4×400-meter relay (3:52.45). Morgan Darrow (junior, Storm Lake) returns in the shot put after transferring from Buena Vista, ranking 15th (44-4.75).
