Iowa Sen. McKinley: Applauds passage of updated Knoxville Veterans Campus resolution
DES MOINES – Senate Republican Leader Paul McKinley (R-Chariton) today applauded the unanimous passage of Senate Concurrent Resolution 8, a resolution asking the United States Department of Veterans Affairs to recognize and evaluate all proposals related to the repurposing of the Knoxville Veterans Campus.
“I want to commend the hard work and diligence of the Knoxville and Marion County leaders as well as of all the concerned citizens for their work and efforts in putting together an updated resolution that instructs the United States Department of Veterans Affairs to recognize and evaluate all proposals and ideas related to our veterans’ campus in Knoxville,” said McKinley. “In a bi-partisan fashion, we were able to come to an agreement in the Senate and that passed this morning with unanimous support. I am hopeful the House of Representatives will take this resolution up soon and I look forward to working with the city and county in the weeks and months ahead as we look at new uses for the facilities.”
