September 29, 2026

Council Bluffs, IA – The Indian Hills Volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 sweep over Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) foe Iowa Western Community College on Tuesday night, dropping the Reivers in straight sets in the 2026 conference opener. The Warriors move to 12-8 overall on the year and 1-0 in league play.

The Warriors handled the Reivers in convincing fashion at Reiver Arena, taking the conference match in straight sets 25-20, 25-17, and 25-19. The Warriors have now won six consecutive matchups vs. the Reivers, including three straight in Council Bluffs.

Indian Hills proved to be a force on both ends of the net Tuesday night, utilizing a potent offense to compliment an aggressive defense. Indian Hills never trailed in the opening set to take the initial lead. Set two saw the Reivers lead by two midway through the frame, but the Warriors ran away down the stretch for the commanding 2-0 lead. A quick start in set three proved to be the dagger for the Warriors as Indian Hills led by as many as eight points in all three sets for the key conference victory.

Jovi Evans (Kalona, IA/Mid-Prairie) played a key role on both ends for the Warriors as the freshman collected her second consecutive double-double, leading the team in both kills (12) and digs (14). Freshmen Alisha Perez (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/IMG Academy), this week’s ICCAC Offensive Player of the Week, and Elsa Dermis Cuevas Perez (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Matias Ramon Mella) tallied nine kills a piece to power the offense.

Freshman Kanade Yamagishi (Osaka, Japan/Kochi Chuo), this week’s ICCAC Defensive Player of the Week, chipped in 14 digs while sophomore Ana Silva (Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil/Major Aviador José Mariotto) tallied 10 digs and 11 assists.

Sofia Silveira (Lisbon, Portugal/António Damásio) tallied 23 assists, the freshman’s 11th match of the year with at least 20 helpers to pace the offense as Indian Hills boasted a .284 hitting percentage on the night.

The Warriors will now head to Waterloo, IA for a pair of matchups at Hawkeye Community College on October 3. The Warriors will take on Illinois Central Community College at 2:00 PM followed by a 4:00 PM match vs. Hawkeye.
